What do the heart and star on a photo do?

Hover a photo in the Photos panel and two marks appear:

♥ Heart — when Auto-Arrange places this photo, make it the larger one on its page.
★ Star — give this photo a page of its own.

They are instructions for Auto-Arrange: mark your favorites first, then run it. If a photo has both, the star wins.
