A project's public page and the screen-quality copy of its book stay online for as long as Memory Booked runs — there is no expiry date and nothing to renew. Memorial books can be opened and downloaded by the family at any time, whether or not a printed copy was ever ordered.
The printed book is the permanent copy. It does not depend on us, on the internet, or on anything else being around.
Anyone with an account can download a copy of everything they contributed — the pages they wrote, the photos they uploaded and their orders — from Settings → Your data, any time. It arrives as a zip file by email.
We plan to be here for a long time. But a memorial should not depend on a promise, so here is ours: if the service ever had to shut down, every account holder would get at least 90 days' notice by email, and during that time the book downloads and the data export above would stay available so families could keep everything themselves.
When someone deletes their account, the pages and photos they added to a book stay in that book, with their name on them. Nothing is pulled out of a finished book.
